TurningPoint Blackboard Registration

The following clickers can be used at ASU: 

 

NXT (white),  XR (white/orange) and XR (blue/white)

 

NOTE:  If you have registered your Device ID for a previous class, you will not need to register again. 

NOTE:  If you lose or damage your clicker, you will need to re-register your new Device ID and notify your professor in order for your clicker to work in class. 

NOTE:  You can only register and use 1 device type (Clicker or ResponseWare) for your classes. 

  1. Go to: http://myasucourses.asu.edu/
  2. Select the class you wish to register
  3. On the class page click 'Tools' in the left menu
  4. Then click 'TurningPoint Registration Tool'
  5. Enter your Device ID  (Where can I locate this?)
  6. Confirm your Device ID
  7. Click 'Submit'
    After completing these steps you should be registered. Always check which Device ID is registered for your classes by following  steps 1-4 as stated above.

Before Requesting Support, You Should...
  1. Make sure your Device ID is registered in Blackboard.
  2. Make sure your Device ID is free of typographical errors.
  3. You have reviewed the entire grade book for clicker points for your class. 
  4. You are on the correct channel for your classroom.
  5. You have logged in properly with your ResponseWare.
  6. Your instructor has posted clicker points.

Purchasing a ResponseWare License

NOTE:  Some instructors do not allow students to use cell phones, laptops, or other hand-held devices as clickers. Please keep this in mind before you purchase a ResponseWare multi-year license for your cell phone, laptop, or other hand-held device.  
 

  1. Go to: http://store.turningtechnologies.com
  2. Enter the school code: 50oQ  (5, Zero, Lowercase o, Uppercase Q)
  3. Choose a 1 year (annual) or 4-year License
  4. Continue with your checkout
  5. You should receive an email confirmation from TurningPoint with your ResponseWare License Code

 

Creating a ResponseWare Account
  1. Go to: http://rwpoll.com
  2. Click 'Manage Account'
  3. Click 'Create Account'
  4. Accept the License Agreement
  5. Enter the License Code from the email you received from TurningPoint.
  6. Complete filling out the remaining information
  7. Once you are finished, click 'Create Account'
  8. Once you log in you should see your 'Device ID' in red.   

NOTE:  This is the ID in which you will register in Blackboard.
 

Responding with NXT Clicker

There seems to be some confusion with how to respond with the NXT clicker in class. To make sure your clicker is ready in class to respond please check that you are on the 'home screen' of the device. If you are in any of the setting views while trying to answer you will notice that nothing happens. To get out of the settings menu press the back arrow located in the top left of key-pad. Please see the visual as to what the home screen should look like.
